Fairly butch, Jewish, scarred, lezzie comedian here! Catherine Tate is one of my all time heroes! I find it difficult to believe that anyone offended by this has had to deal with actual bigotry before.

Those of you who are offended, I'm not sure how you ended up here, but if you've seen the show, this Catherine Tate character's schtick is to be really offensive without meaning to. The comedy isn't in that "Susan" has a cleft palate, but in the horrid awkwardness of "Ally" accidentally making fun of it. The best comedy at its core comes from truth and can cause laughter and thoughtfulness in the same breath. It seems to me that Catherine Tate has done just that, so Bravo to her!
