Definitely,a lot of their songs sound like Shirelle's re-writes.The early 64 songs.

Just heard this song today, and recognized shirley's voice from the name game and I just had to look it up. I really like her relentless vocals that just keep flowing and the smooth drums and bass lines in the songs she sings.

I was shocked years ago to learn that Shirley did this song. It was much too hip at the time. I don't think many could catch on this song. Gladys and the Pips remade it in 1969 and changed the whole format but it sounded great at the time.

I hate "The Name Game" with the heat of infinity suns. I can't stand the irritating banana fannas and I think the whole thing is an atrocity to the hearing world!Give me my Beatles instead! |
