im talking about blocks the size actually used for balistic testing...

were not thinking of the same size gel here. Im talking about big gel blocks put side by side.

uhm, no, the Round will go through all the way, and the high airpressure of the spinning round even causes the Gel to Explode....sure the round might be deformed.

think of it like this, a kevlar vest can stop a pistol round but a knife can go through it. a pistol round can penetrate deep in Gel but, a rifle round penetrate a little but breaks up. Its because the gel is mostly water, they both have the same effect.

Balistics gel IS USED TO MESSURE PENETRATION!So how does it sound when you say a rifleround CANT penetrate Gel...it can PENETRATE FUCKING STEEL SO WHY WOULD IT FAIL ON JELLO?YOU are not making much sense to me!PENETRATION is something different then you seem to be, because penetrating Balisticsgel with a knife also works fine for me...uuhh must be a super knife then coz it doesnt break.

I guess I wasnt clear enough. Yes, you can make it small but, how would that show penetration. I have seen the effect of a high calibar round fired at ballistic gel and water with my own eyes. they both break up. you must be thinking of a thin gel block because you dont make much sence to me.
Chrinik (June 30, 2008 at 9:31 pm)
uhm...you probably dont know what penetration meanst.OF COURSE a round can penetrate Gel...as well as water...and the smaller the Block, and the bigger the round, you probably even BLOW UP the whole Gelblock....so you dont know anything about bullets...

to be honest i don't think any of you have any idea. the u.s military and Remington come up with this round to be better in all specs. i think people should take their advice from them. Rather then anyone on youtubes :) not being an asshole.

As a marine once told me the .223 sucks "you just have to put more rounds into the bad guy to knock him down. I once saw a program on the military channel that compaired these two rounds and the 223 would bairly go through a cars windshield. The 6.8 however has so much more kinetic energy it went right through the windshield and still maintained alot of energy when impacting the target (bad guy). Thumbs up for the 6.8 I have been drooling over a bushmaster 6.8 for some time. |
