In my opinion florez is a leggerio tenor with excellent vocal agility and brilliance of tone. Do you enjoy listening to coloratura soprano voices?

JonGbass: I think if you will look carefully at the other actors, especially those who enter the stage from the right at the very end of the aria, you will see that they have been directed in a kind of Kabuki acting...a form of singing puppetry. I'm pretty sure that accounts for all the seemingly strange gestures.

He sounds perfect, but to me he must of not thought Seiji Ozawa was doing a good enough job. He conducted the whole thing!

Giacomini is remarkable, Florez is fine too - different singers, different repertoire, It's not a battle of sheer sound. Why does YouTube have more than its fair share of the "big renor, massive sound, everyone else is a f****t?" people. Giacomini is excellent, I saw him many times; but I repeat it's not the only type/style - it's not a competition. I criticise not Giacomini but the homo-erotic dribble of followers of Del Monaco, Corelli et al.

Giacomini's voice is so spectacular that it usually attracts all the attention of someone who discovers him for the first time, but second and third listenings will reveal what a brilliant musician he is; the legato, the phrasing, the pronunciation, the general musicianship are simply extraordinary. A very intelligent and elegant singer.

this is the new era for tenors and male singing....no more poor and pathetic white voices like florez...and so many others...the great verdi baritone joseph shores write...is about the right technique that makes the big sound...dark and bright.....
