Sports-Saoul Mamby Still Fighting
In Champions League action, Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney gave Manchester United a clinical 2-0 win at AS Roma yesterday. The first-leg result gives the English club a bit of a cushion before the return match in Italy. United Manager Alex Ferguson was delighted at the result. [Ferguson, Manchester Manager]: "Well this was a fantastic result for us. Probably another day I am going to start worrying about it (the return game). I think the first thing is to make sure that we prepare properly. We cannot take anything for granted in this game. We have to earn the right to be in the semifinal. And hopefully we can do that." With such a heated rivalry, Ferguson says he was pleased that there had not been any clashes between the team's supporters. Over to boxing, where Saoul Mamby was first crowned WBC light welterweight champion 28 years ago. Now at the age of 60 he could be the oldest boxer in a sanctioned fight. He lost a 10-round draw in the Cayman Islands a few weeks ago. Now he is out looking for another title. The grandfather of eleven children says there is no reason for him to hang up his gloves. [Saoul Mamby, Boxer]: "I don't have any injuries. I don't have any damage to myself. I've never been knocked out cold. I've never been beaten so bad the referee had to stop the fight. I'm fine." Mamby from New York has won 45 bouts, lost 34 and drawn six over his extended career.
