I recommend a good book. With the old Corps in Nicaragua by CLARK. Marine Corps presence there goes from around 1912-1932 or so. There were earlier instances but most presence in the 1920's chasing Sandino. This is a great song. I don't see insult in this song. Of course, kind of machismo gringo song, with the ladies but you know the ladies love it. Especially when gringo make the donuts. Talk about the ugly Americans. It's all the same everywhere.

This is a catchy "Banana Republic" song. Now before you feel insulted, I have been to Nicaragua twice. Been all over Central America and lived in Panama too. Y hablo espanol tambien. I am not sure what year this video was shown, however, many don't know or forget that the U.S. Marines had a presence there for many years in the early 1900's. I see a clip of baseball players and who do you think tought baseball in Nicaragua? Place got destroyed by earthquakes in 31 and 72 this century.

My GrandMother used to tell me that Nicaragua's currency back then was at the same value of the American Dollar, Nicaragua had the closest relations with US. Nicaragua was the most developed country in Central America, better yet the envy of Central America. Many other Central Americans used to immigrate to Nicaragua for a better future, and obviously there was no need for Nicas to immigrate to the US. Sad what happened to this beatiful country! Maybe one day again.

Que lastima que a Nicaragua le falta la chispa para salir adelante como Costa Rica. Me da pesar que toda la industria que se ha formado en nuestro pais le pertenezca a extranjeros. Se ha vuelto candil de la calle, oscuridad de su casa. Ahora, mi pobre Nicaragua, que vas a hacer con el vampiro Ortega y su bruja?
