I agree and disagree. Roasts have become trashy, but to say all of todays comedy has become trash is wrong. Lewis Black has one of the dirtiest acts when it comes to cuss words, but he's still one of the smartest and funniest comedians of our day. Robin Williams, perhaps the greatist comedy mind in the world for the past two generations has a fairly foul vocabulary. The people who were roasted in Dean Martains day truly diserved it though, and the roasters had taste and class. I'll miss them
