I long for an AMERICA that isn't fucked up. As an african-America, who has never set foot on African soil, Africa is not my home, I do not LONG to go to Africa. I LONG for an America that makes me feel like home.

Ethiopia was not colonized. However it was occupied by Italy from 1935 through 1941. (2)Liberia,is only one of two nations in Africa (along with Ethiopia) that didn't fall under European domination. Dr. Maya Angelou got this messed up.According to the narrator in this clip, Ghana is the first Negro Colony to gain freedom from colonialists. It is the fact!Liberia and Ethiopia were never colonies. PERIOD.Check history books. So therefore what the narration said about Ghana is the fact

Again, thank you for posting this. I wish this could be replayed on the news. It is long since forgotten. I would bow before Dr. Angelou if I ever met her. If there is American royalty, she is a queen. She will be read about for years and years to come. We are blessed to have her living among us now.
