I love the "harmless as the radium dial on your watch", when those are illegal now.Screw the duck and cover, I'd rather be fried by the flash than die of cancer weeks or months later. I watched my mum die of cancer and it wasn't pretty. I'll take the initial blast thanks.

the thing is that the a-bomb would contiminate huge area. with the infrastructure destroyed, where are you going to get fresh food or water? And as we've seen in chernobyl, the fall out can affect areas pretty far from the actual explosion.
