Okay, I want to feed the hungry and cure disease as much as the next guy, but thats not what I'm excited about. Bring on the cybernetic enhancements! Anyone interested in this stuff needs to watch "Building Gods" (Google video, watch the 80 minute "rough cut"). They talk to some of the big dogs in intelligent machine research.

If you're taking "gods territory" from my comment you didn't get my comment. The entity called God is probably ready to give away as much territory as we cantake.

It was OK. I kept looking for stuff thathe couldn't come out and say in his nonfiction. All I got was a character wearing a T-shirt of Bin Laden with the words "Not A Terrorist". ????????????Kurtzweil had a hand in it and is worthbuying in paperback.

I thought that looked like an interesting book. Did you like it?

When we apply these technologies to environmental health, pollution etc. Food production and renewable energy, there will be no problem sustaining a growing and potentially immortal population. Some people will want to board the easily designable and buildable spaceships to go colonizing other worlds. And no, if god created the world for us, then he created our bodies for us. Tell an amputee with a prosthetic limb that they are encroaching on "god's territory" |
