Re: Steve Earle and Towne`s comments about Towne`s true greatness as a song writer and Bob`s coffee table, did you ever hear Bob`s comment when he heard the story (i.e. that Steve would stand on Bob`s coffee table and tell him that Townnes was the greater song-writer)? BOB, mock-threateningly, "I`d like to see him try..." pause for effect, ".......I ain`t got no coffee table". Just the greatest music and the greatest performers and "...it ain`t no competition......well, not really....."

Townes Van Zandt is also shown in the final scene playing a guitar. Some people may not know that Van Zandt wrote "Pancho and Lefty" and sang his own version of the song. His version is also posted on you tube.

Is that Towne Van Zandt as one of the Federales?

I wish I would have seen our comment sooner so we could have argued about it. Not because I like to argue just because it's fun to do it on here when you can't see the people. Too late now, and you're a funny motherfucker. I love washed up cunts.

Here's something that I heard i'm not sure if it's true or not but what I heard was that Willie Nelson's daughter directed this video. If anybody knows who directed this video could they please be so kind enough to post it thank you.

I hear ya. Had it on vinyl myself. The whole record is good too. The song "all the soft places to fall" is great. But this song gives you a vivid visual while you listen. Since I have a horseman's background, it really grabs me. Yup, these two legands are two of the best raconteurs ever to grace a stage.
