A brief re-read of what I said would reveal that I did not liken this to an assault rifle--I CONTRASTED it with an assault rifle.

only a tard would compare an AR (G3 is an AR) to a PDW/SMG... they're used for different tasks... this thing is given to support troops & vehicle crews that have no need for an AR (too cumbersome, too fucking big) and usualy carry an smg or a pistol.

look up the concept of a bullpup. it doesn't have a short barrel, the barrel is further back and most of it is hidden inside of the weapon. the firing mechanism is in the rear, unlike conventional designs where it's in the middle so the barrel protrudes a lot more.and yes, it does lack the range & accuracy of an assault rifle, it's a pdw, not an AR... it has all the positives of a compact smg, but can fire high-velocity AP ammo much more like a rifle cartridge.apples & oranges.

I believe it's referred to as a personal defense weapon as it'd be unsuitable for use in, say, a military attack.With a short barrel like that, it'd lack the range and accuracy of an assault rifle.
