I just realised; they cut all of Jesus' miracles from the story. Interesting approach, considering also the focus on Judas as the main character driving the plot.

i thought darthman07 had it right. Pilate looked very snide in this one. He had that really superior/derogatory vibe.

i feel sad because this is the one version of any musical that i dont like that i have heard i like the new one but this is just plain boring

oh sorry 1 more thing. I also really like the instrumental interlude a 1:44 accompanied by that beautiful wide screen shot. The little details and camera work are a big part of what made the film so great. Norman did a great job on it. Also the audio in this version simply kills the 2000 version.

I totally disagree. Just because he is not overbearingly loud or physical like the new 1 does not mean he is "too calm." He still very much so gives off an evil vibe but more in a deranged sort of way. Note the laugh at the end and the bipolar attitude (somewhat benevolent to harsh) Also its almost as if he is just musing to himself out loud at times. I think Barry was playing on the crazy thing. AFter all, Pilate is basically seeing his dream play out which means his demotion is not far off.
