I'm not saying they didn't BORROW the look or style of The Residents, I"m just saying they didn't copy EVERYTHING they've done from The Residents, as Dr Misanthrope so eloquently put "see The Residents for everything else Les got" yes they were directly influenced by The Residents but they're sound is basically southern-tinged rock filtered through avant-garde weirdness a la The Residents but a little more diluted...

look at primus art, and then look at the residents. its all similar. their recent promo pics with the white suits and top hats are taken directly from the residents. i love primus and the residents

How baddass is it that a song this old can play in a modern day film and still seem so fresh! Love Tom Waits (and Fight Club)

i dont need telling what primus are, moron. I was saying that Primus are largely inspired by The Residents

Just cuz Primus covered Hey Skinny/Constantinople doesn't mean they borrowed their whole aesthetic from them. Primus is primarily Southern-fried rock filtered through slap-bass funk a la Parliament or Sly and the Family Stone... |
