I hear you. She does have a great voice, but it some how interrupts the vibe of the rest of the band for me. I know Bruford loved her and all that. I guess I just loved the first track and wasn't into a lead vocal coming into the music.

Are you kidding? Annie Peacock is one of the best voices in jazz-rock - at least for that period...

I've seen that interview, and it must have had an impact - listen to Alex Lifeson try to channel Holdsworth on "YYZ" and "Limelight."

Holdsworth owns!

I thought that was what she intended to do here... to "jazz" things up a little bit. It's actually boring if the singer actually sung always on tune, specially in songs like this. In adios a la pasada she actually spoke quite a bit.

There is a clip of an interview with Geddy Lee (from Rush) on YouTube from 1979, where the interviewer asks Geddy what music he's currently into, and Geddy says, "Bill Bruford." It was from just after this album came out, so apparently the work had impact on fellow accomplished musicians.Love this song and Bruford in general. Thanks for posting.

Yeah, Neil Murray. He played with Whitesnake around that time if I remember correctly.
