People now are not trying to do their research on musical history. People are more lazy so the energy to actually do a history check on originators of funk don't seem to resonate now.

I personally believe that fame and the pressure he had in terms of being the "voice" for politic awareness sent him over the edge. Members of the group stated that at Sly&Family Stones height of success, Black Panthers and other power groups pressure sly into speaking for the people.

I've watched this so many times and it gets better each time. I can imagine the schedulers for this concert insisting that they perform last. Otherwise they maintenance crew would quit in protest over having to clean up the backstage suicide of whatever poor band drew the short straw and went on after this group of geniuses. Thanks for posting this astoundingly great performance. COME BACK SLY! WE NEED YOU!!
