Yup I'm familiar with the Mama san "sew sew lady" as we had them up at Camp Schwab. I also had a buddy in the engineers at Hansen and am familiar with your squadbays. That was when i was there in 79'.

as of 1989 there were open squad bays on camp hansen (i was in one for a year on the back side of hansen in the engineer barracks) with mama san (did our laundry/ironing to those that didnt drink so much) & the whole 9 yards. also beer machines was in the barracks $1.00 then.mega respect for u old school guys though. Simply excellent vid from your platoon back in 67. My older bro went in 1966 and was already in Nam when you were at PI. I joined in 78 and was a DI at PI in 84. Hey redo the vid with"Buffalo Springfield's song "For what its worth" which I believe came out that year.Semper fiI hope all my Marine brothers shown in this vid came home from Vietnam. Semper Fi Mac! I hear the smoking lamp no longer exist in the Corps. There aren't any open squadbays in the FMF either from what i've been told. The grunts live in hotels now on base. No more starched covers or spit-shines.
