PsycheTruth has a good video dealing with genetic factors title is "Gay Lesbian Sex Genes, Is Homosexuality Genetic?" (watch?v=dWNdPnd-c_Q) And bear in mind that the main notions promoted by the Major Media are that homosexuality is either a free choice or genetically determined. The two notions contradict each other; but they both support the illusion that only the individual should be faulted. Also, environmental factors are ridiculed, downplayed, or denied--thereby preserving the Status Quo.

(2) ever done any readings in psychology then you know that the many and sometimes conflicting schools of thought in psychology are analogous to religion. And psychology, as an instrument of subjugation and control, is gradually taking the place of religion. As much as I disagree with Thomas Szasz, he wasn't totally wrong (watch?v=Qj7GmeSAxXo). Also watch psychtruth's video "Gay Sex A Mental Disorder?" (watch?v=FsglDXW34yo), which I previously recommended. Naturalism Org & FamilyLoveZone Com 8-)

You're the one using "ridiculously poor logic." I was being logical. Either homosexuality never was a disorder or it still is. Either the earth never was flat or it still is. Same logic. The earth was never flat--not since it became something that can be construed as Earth anyway. I was just pointing out that some aspects of psychology are more like religion than science. I've heard sermons from the pulpit stating psychology is merely secular humanist religion. Maybe, a little. If you've (GoTo2)

I'm a psych major, and what makes homosexuality NOT a mental disorder is that it does not cause psychological/emotional distress to that person. Now, people experience homophobia that causes LGBT ppl psychological/emotional distress, but that would make homophobia the problem, NOT homosexuality...

"Either homosexuality never was a mental disorder or it still is, one or the other."What??? That is ridiculously poor logic... You know that left-handedness also used to be considered a disorder, and that they used to use electro-shock therapy for all sorts of things? The fact that it USED to be considered a disorder does not make it one."Either homosexuality never was a mental disorder or it still is, one or the other."Ditto to freezerain's comment, it never was one...

SFmaster23,All women have low levels of male hormones, androgen and testosterone; the same goes with men and the female hormones, progesterone and estrogen. I suggest you maybe retake your highschool biology courses...

Hormones determine who you're attracted to.There's no way in hell in you can have female hormones and have male genitalia and no breasts whatsoever. And vice-versa.

Ah.. there ya go.. you just said it.. "Pick and Choose".I dislike Pick and Choose Christians. They shuffle a Pedophile Priest off to another Parish, but attack homosexuals with a vile hatred.

Well said, unseenstrings!Additionally, tottnyc, I HAVE done the research. as a matter of fact, I'm willing to bet I've done far more research than you. Do you know that not one pro-genetic research study has been peer-reviewed before being published? And that none of them, to date, have been replicated? Do you know how the "research" has been conducted, and by whom? Because I do.YOUR point of view is based on media, not research, not science. I'm sorry. You're the one in the dark.

(2) were not born attracted to females with lips stretched around plates. Padaung men were not born attracted to females with elongated necks. A baby is not even born recognizing which parent to nurse from. But this same baby is supposedly born hardwired with future sexual preferences. Bull! Sexual orientation is the result of biosociopsychological development. It is unconscious adaptation of the biopsychology of the individual to circumstances (personal experiences) You're reading pseudoscience |
