Perhaps one of the ten most influential blues men of his era, yet rarely mentioned. Probably lived a meager existence, given the exploitive nature of the music business. Let him be enriched in his hereafter through these great clips. Thanks for the postings, folks.

Had a bad day once. Went on Rhapsody and some how typed in lightin'. Saw Lightin' Hopkins next to "texas blues" and i jumped on it.Instantly fell in love with the classic acoustic blues.

I was fortunate enough to see Lightin' twice, and he not only plays original Texas blues, but he put on quite a show. Very entertaining! Thank you for posting this almost lost bit of genius.

I don't think lightnin hopkins always got the credit he deserved as a blues man,I think he got over shadowed by others. I think he's great fab clip you get to listen to lightnin and get a glimse of life back then.I just wish I were born in earlyer time to see the greats lightnin being one thanks for posting |
