Is "Lightnin's Boogie" on the dvd with Mance or the one with Sykes? Also, where can I buy Mance's autobiography? A lot of Lightnin's stuff from around 1946 is brilliant. A lot of the 1960s stuff with a backing band is junk, in my opinion. Thanks for the info!

It is not a J160e, it's a J50.The J160e is what John Lennon played in the Beatles, it has a single coil pickup at the neck and tone and volume controls on the body. Lighnin' is playing a J50 acoustic.

it's a gibson j-160e guys! it's in the rock and roll hall of fame, i actually bowed to it when i saw it in person.

i just like it because it's so out of step with his other stuff. same key, sure, but mance lipscomb said in his autobiography "lightnin only plays two songs!" alot of my favorites are the ones where he breaks out of his perfectly honed slow E mold, check out "wonder why" and "walkin' blues" for two more like that. isn't the version of "lightnin's boogie" on that dvd jaw-dropping, too?

Its a Gibson J50 actually. It's the same guitar as the J45 except for the finish which is natural and the bigger pickguard. Same spruce top and mahogany body as the J45.

I just bought this dvd, and I thought that "Baby Scratch My Back" was not so great. It's a pretty monotonous song and it doesn't really have any lyrics to it. Lightnin' has a lot better songs. However, the dvd is still really great. I also purchased the Hopkins/Sykes dvd, which you guys can watch on YouTube.
