I think the winter clothing was more because of Hitler's overconfidence. They probably thought it would be over before the end of the summer.Anyway, you can't deny that the Germans could've beaten the Russians if they had been able to move all their troops to the eastern border. Just like D-Day would've failed if the Germans had been able to concentrate all their forces along the west coast. (Consider it a 'Divide et Impera' situation. :P)

Well, had the Russians failed to take Stalingrad back, Germany would have actually been in control of a shitload of oil fields, meaning that they'd have the resources, supplies, and fuel needed to continue the war for... decades, quite possibly.The war hinged upon one critical battle: Stalingrad. The only thing that beat the Germans back was the iron will of the Russians and the fact that Hitler had never bothered to issue his men proper clothing for winter...

You have to admit, the man was a genius. He was able to transform a totally destroyed Germany into a superpower in like 10 years. His ideas were so wrong and his lust for "lebensraum" was simply idiotic, but still he had accomplished so much...

Bullocks, it was a combination of the three that won the war. Without America and Britain Russia wouldn't have won and without Russia America and the UK would have been defeated. It's all about dividing the war between east and west. If Germany hadn't attacked Russia we would be speaking German right now. Luckily for us dictators always think they have to conquer Russia. Britian traditionally where the power balancer in international politics when the global stage was mostly on Europe by always siding against the powerhouse whether it be Austria or France. Only in recent modern history when the world stage was dominated by USSR (at one point) and USA did Britain be shoved off to a supporting role.
