If you feel fear benefits you, and you are comfortable and happy living in fear and not stressed by it then this isn't for you. It's for those who don't want to live in fear. If you think fear protects you then watch the news instead of Byron Katie.

paige2e: Would I rather live in peace or stress? I would rather live in peace. I imagine thinking "George Bush is an idiot" is a stressful thought and so I choose the turn around. In my own head I can have peace if I am not confused.

it is all about seeing how our thinking restricts us in every day life - fear is rational when there is something right in front of us to be afraid of - not something imagined that could happen - in that case it is debilitating

I absolutely agree with you. It seems to me she is using wordplay and some pretty messed up logic to get her point across. The rationality of a fear is based on its likelihood to manifest itself, not on a discrete black and white set of happening vs not happening.
