You can tell that Letterman hates all these young starlets. He treats them in a patronising way as though (like the character of Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice) they are 'tolerable' enough and nothing more. I think this is made plainest is his joke about Lost. The shows are all popcorn and all pretty much the same. Every year a bunch of hot new shows is churned out and a new production line of hot young actresses with them and noone ever knows or hears what ever has become of the old ones.

this girl is too young to be acting like that. she really doesnt understand the attitude she gives in this interview. 17/18 yrs of life experience is nowhere near enough to insist that kind of conversational command (particularly the jokes) with dave who is over 60. dave was ultimately being passive with her. he wouldnt go out of his way to condescend her, he's very kind.
