I don't disagree if you mean to say that today's corporate radio is pushing many bands who are far less talented AND authentic. However, Cadillac's marketing team obviously thought Stars was worth using in a modern commercial. That fact leads me to believe that things might be different if Hum would have just put out "Electra 2000" a couple years ago and "You'd Prefer an Astronaut" within the past year. Whatever the case, I'm glad I've had them to listen to all these many years!

it has the same style of playing as cherub rock but the riff is different enough to tell the difference. this song is amazing.

No, I totally agree, It would be awsome to do a really goos cover of this and see if it would blow out the non-original mainstream vile of today's music world.

no, it is pretty similar, but this was a popular sound for the early to mid nineties so it's not like it's a bad thing for it to sound similar. personally i'm not a big fan of HUM, but I wouldn't condemn them for going for a more mainstream sound. |
