On Bethwaite's website, the 49er technical page (Tips from Sailors, Coaches and Designers), seems they're thinking about making foiler skiffs next, maybe like the foiler moths. So maybe a foiler SKUD also! The SKUD is quite fast but demands lots of strength and endurance from the crew, specially in the (brutal) spinnaker hoist and douse. Imagine 4 hoists in 1 race. If the helm does not position the SKUD properly, the filling kite plus water loading from partial hoist is terrific strain time.

Exciting to hear you could come and visit. We'll show you a time :-) We had a Skud visit us last year during our regatta and it was amazing, we all drooled. We have a good set up, recently purchased another 303 and are trying to get another Liberty. Two weeks ago we put another inflatable chase boat in the water - that means two out while we sail. San Francisco summer winds are coming, oh boy!

Thanks! Hello baads303, been lurking at your website and wishing we had the same setup, you guys have all the fun plus accessible facilities! Hope to visit next year.Photos of this video taken in Singapore, they have the NSA support, vision and budget to promote disabled sailing. We're Sailability Philippines, just started this program in mid-2006. Hope to buy a SKUD 18 to join the Paralympics in Qingdao. We qualified in the IFDS 2-Person Keelboat World Championships in Singapore last March.

Congratulations, it looked like a fun day and the boats all look so new. Ours are a bit beat up with so many hours on them (and at least one trip on the rocks that I can claim). Hello from BAADS, Bay Area Association of Disabled Sailors, San Francisco |
