I'm under no false illusions that i know how a new system should run; rather the current system is unfair and she be razed to the ground. Hollywood's a dead dinosaur in my opinion, fat off the misery of others.

I love you're intent, but that's a bit naive.What is YouTube? Who owns it? Why would you use them for distribution? What happens if you film/content is longer than 10 minutes? How are you going to pay for the cost of production if you aren't making any money for your artistic endeavor? What is in the YouTube agreement clause for posting content? What is in the fine print? Etc.

Precisely my point. History remembers Sophocles, Shakespeare, etc. Who acted in those productions? Actors are important, but why are they more important than the person who wrote the thing that's making their career. 20 million for 3 months work just to pretend you're someone else, which I'm sorry is human nature. Give me a break. The true artist is being ignored.

Agreed Darth look at the series "Friends" so MAtthew Perry is a talented comedic actor but would he really be funny at all without the talented writers that wrote for the show? Now I'm sure they all cashed out (writers) for many millions, but it pales in comaparison to what the marginal actors made. Theres a reason you see very few of them on TV/movies anymore except Aniston.Writers need to take the power back.

If I had a great idea for a sitcom/drama series and I had the cash I'd put a pliot on the Internet myself. I don't know why some of these rich retired entertaiment guys lie Eisner and Turner don't fund startup shows to put on the Internet. Once you get a loyal following, you could charge so much per show or season. If it becomes popular enough, you go to the studio/network and write your own ticket..
