MISSISSAUGA PHOTO RADAR (CITIZENS' HEADS-UP)
PHOTO RADAR MISSISSAUGA MUNICIPAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER SECURITY GUARD ONTARIO OVERSIGHT QUIS CUSTODIET IPSOS CUSTODES?MISSISSAUGA WATCH Blog: http://www.mississaugablogs.co... Tuesday, March 25, 2008, The Corporation of the City of Mississauga held a public meeting on introducing PHOTO RADAR. Yes, "PHOTO RADAR" even though they called it "AUTOMATED SPEED COMPLIANCE"The Mississauga News reported:"'I had to call Carolyn Parrish's office to find out it's photo radar,' said resident Christopher Crank."The Mississauga News continued:"(Councillor Pat) Saito said that changing the name is necessary to convince people that the City's program is being done differently then the one done by the province in the 1990s. She said that the phrase "photo radar" has become "tainted" by the former NDP government. (Sorry but MISSISSAUGAWATCH doesn't believe Councillor Saito.) We suspect another reason Mississauga calling PHOTO RADAR "AUTOMATED SPEED COMPLIANCE". And so does Hazel McCallion. The Mississauga News continued:"If you advertise it as photo radar this council chamber would be full," said McCallion."**BINGO**!We also agree with the residents who contacted Councillor Prentice and complained about being "duped" by the name AUTOMATED SPEED COMPLIANCE.Ultimately, MISSISSAUGAWATCH believes that a City that would call PHOTO RADAR, "AUTOMATED SPEED COMPLIANCE" and have no public complaints procedure against City enforcement/security personnel ain't all that Above-Board-Trusted.The only question now is, "WILL MISSISSAUGANS BE DUPED AGAIN?"

Mississauga City Council is a joke. They are a useless & corrupt bunch lead by an old witch who never listens to her citizens. If the people of Mississauga saw Hazel in action they would never vote for her ever again. |
