Hi Nisha,How right.A new voice phenomenon may have "rattled some cages". A singer cannot be everything just as honey is not sugar. However wonderful a voice, its appreciation depends on composition. When Mauli's musical voice is matched with the composition, the effects are excellent.She is an interesting singer. Musical Mauli or versatile Poonum depend on the composer to create pure entertainment and delight. Never give a rose to a monkey and expect it to comment on its fragrance.Beldeu

She has a different style of singing.Ok,she doesn't have the fine tune of Lataji but I think Mauli has something different to offer which Bollywood may be interested in.I can see that it has rattle some cages here!Yes, I agree that some songs don't suit her. However,I think that she should have done the original of Maiya Maiya from the movie Guru. Aaaargh..wait wait..before you comment, go hear the original one first then go click on Mauli's version, then comment.

She is still on the stage because of 'communal' votes from Gugrat and/or Gujrati speaking people. These votes are not based on talent. The voters from Gujrat or all Gujrati speaking voters are ignoring the 'spirit' of SAREGAMAPA as well as all the musuc lovers.
