this is the time when capoeira was about fun and culture...not about who's better, who has sixpack, who sings better, who flips better like nowadays, etc... this is when capoeira was about community, fun, and comedic...i think capoeira has lost this essence and capoeira nowadays are not as patient and lost touch with the music...or roots.

man, mestre caiçara is a legend of capoeira

This clip proves that Mestre Caicara is a true 'Mandingueiro' .. As a wise and respected Mestre it is his right to command the roda and the players. He is proving that the players would be wrong to take control and start the jogo with total disregard for the energy that is being created for them. He is building up an energy so the jogo will be full of axe.. he is a true legend.. this is true capoeira.

Caiçara is showing them that you don't play until you're given the nod.

people really should think twice before posting such a thing about a legend in capoeira as Mestre Caicara was, so u dont have to look at it in a few years and regret it deeply

I think the late great mestre saw a not good jogo and stopped it until it was going to look write if the songs are good hopefully the game will replicate i guess thats why he made them stop i think

In this video Mestre Caiçara doesn´t show anything relevant from what a true Mestre really is, his singing if off temple, corridos are quick, and he plays it out showing off his belly, holding up the game, I´m sure nowadays real Mestres wouldn´t participate in such a mess.
