The oxygen always helps though, especially when under stress, regardless of altitude. But I think it gets really hard to breath around 10,000ft.

The masks are for the take offs from the carries and for higher altitudes where the air is unbreathable. Yeah, he's pulling 10 G's, but its alot more taking off from a carrier.
