Whitney's voice is just unique and awesome, even if it's not her song, that's thanks to her that this song is worldwild reknown and She made of this song a classic. She is just on the next level. Dolly's version is great, but come on, comparing her to Whitney, ridiculous.

P.S. Dolly's voice, as I always remembered it, was soft, tender and soothing...I remember my mom kissing my forehead and singing like Dolly when I was sick in bed with a fever.

Dolly's version or Whitney's? I think both did a great job, unique to each's singing ability, etc. I think for those of us who grew up knowing only Dolly's (I had heard truck drivers had to pull off to the side of the road because of tears)this version is as we'd always want to know it as. But later came Whitney....wow.she kicked upa notch.
