Right On! lucky to have had him even for a short time grace us with his musical presence! Besides the huge talent there is feeling and emotion that comes through ....strong.....like a Rolling Stone!

I meant to say first appearance as "The Jimi Hendrix Experience"....yes, he was playing in clubs in NYC and backing up Little Richard, The Eisley Brothers, and others long before that. Also, pulling out all the stops refers to the "stops" on old pipe organs....pulling them out increased the volume to the maximum....letting loose with everything one has.

This concert, taking place in the summer of '67, wasn't Jimi's "first" appearance in the States as InterlochenFan says. It was his homecoming performance since leaving NYC, as he had been in England since the fall of '66.
