HAHAHA 5.56mm is PLENTY powerful, the 6.8mm offers NO advantage, 4 less rounds per mag, less flat-shooting (more Drop), more expensive ammo and rarer, and the 5.56mm hs plenty of knockdown, as long as the shooter can put the round where it should be, a miss with a .50 BMG wouldn't cause nearly as much damage as a humble .22 LR in the face ;)

No shit goes to show the weight is netter than the speed like the 9MM VS .45 ACP the .45 is better the 9MM scuks dick fucking eruo shit

lol. funny. i have a .308, it's an excellent caliber, though not as ultra-powerful as some people would believe.

For examble a 9mm HP will fully expand when shot into water but when shot into tissue it might only expand 50%-75% or less. Water is much denser than animal tissue. This is why the above occurs as well as why high velocity rifle rounds (such as .308) will only travel a few inches in water before fully breaking apart but will pass completly through a person/animal with no sighns of the bullet breaking apart.

That doesnt mean that performance of bullets in water can be directly related to human tissue. If it did then why is it that every scientific organization on the planet that tests ballistic performance of any bullet uses some kind of ballistics medium such as ballistics gellatin or ballistic soap. its simply because water cannot be a reliable test of how a bullet will react when compaired with tissue.

That was great! Now let's get our troops on our border and continue that testing!

actually, shooting jugs of water is pretty realistic. did u know that the human body can be made of up to about 71% water?
MrGatoMan1 (September 24, 2007 at 8:52 pm)
Its impressive what a bullet will do to a water filled container but it isnt accurate when testing round effectiveness against organic tissue. Ballistics media is much better for that.

The shot was likely low and part of the round impacted the block.

yeah, now imagine what a .338 lapua magnum or a .50 BMG is like
