Neural networks are faith-based.

Cognition seems way out there from my perspective, we need another person to demystify. We would want to correlate the increased GLUD2 activity upon it's fluctuating presence in the developing brain, upon neural network semantics, upon cognition, I think.

Nuance and demystification seem to be the goal of this exercise, right. I think to know what it is to do molecular dynamics would be interesting metaphysically for the you tube crowd. The "ontogeny" questions will be interesting too in expanding on the chance nature biology sometimes manifests. Transposable element mutation, remnants from retrovirus infection a distant ancestor encountered, is a wild idea.

So it looks like this paper abstract claims transposition as a mechanism for the difference between the two enzymes (3). I had asked about resolution because it is of course important for molecular dynamics (5). Molecular dynamics theory is the end rational for the physical reality GDH and any other biological molecule represent, within this dimension (this is you tube). Best attempt to know how a molecule interacts throughout time within the system it is part of.

the resolution was .9 Angstroms.... havent read too much about the mechanism yet, gotta finish up finals. LOL no im not proposing that original research be done here, just research what other people have discovered(i.e., learning about this enzyme and the evidence for its effect on our cognitive capacities). Given the topic, I am basically welcome any type of research - chemical, physical, biological, evolutionary, or cognitive.

Looks like you're inspiring quite the exchange of ideas. I've heard of wiki Science, but YouTube Science? Hmmm...

I have a background in structural biology, protein engineering, biochemistry, and biophysics. Do you know the resolution of the crystal structure in angstroms. Do you know if the stoichiometry is correlated with protein isoform activities. I am assuming some answers may already be out there and there is no bench work:) Do you want a journal club type response. It seems impossible to correlate molecular evolution with the evolution of cognition. Is that your goal? Years of research needed.

Greetings Everett,I actually have a strong interest in this field, but little knowledge of it.I'll follow along for the learning experience, hopefully it will involve more free articles like pubmed provides so I don't have to purchase anything. :) |
