Skyrain is the wrong term. Very wrong. The Skytrain is a monorail.NYC subways or elevated trains run on real guaged track either underground(60 percent, while the rest run above ground or elevated, thus that why the nickname "el".

Friedken seems to love the guy rolling down the stairs scene - there's a much better one in the Exorcist though.

"skytain" WTF !?It's called an "El" which means Elevated Train. As for the cop in uniform that gets shot, he is just some nameless actor.

I saw the R42's in this video then when it got coupled with another train laid up on the middle tracks it was R32 or R38.

It was NY in the 70s. Apparently could could do pretty much anything there back then and get away with it.

"Crude Poem" definitely nails the movie. Very reflective of the time.

Friedkin calls this film "a crude poem to the city of New York" on his voice track on this DVD. |
