It is not below Cuba to cash in. They still use petrol. They are not brazil. Especially with Hugo in their back pocket. Not with so many vintage American vehicles in operation. Raul will not distribute ethanol friendly cars.

So I guess Cuba will not bother to drill for oil in the recently discovered field off of their north coast? Is video real or is this satire. This is great comedy. Yeah I want to live like Cubans, give me a break. Look over history at how many times we have had peak oil. I am for improving effiecencies and yeilds, but these two are way out in Left Field gloom and doomers. I am going to sell my car and buy a horse. OMG what about the methane it will create.lol.The end is near, the end is near!!!LOL

yes, but we are facing an 80% reduction in availability and spot shortages, just to begin with.

Answer to peak oil lies in improving mpg and expansion of mass transit. Oil consumption can be cut down to 50% without sacrificing comforts.

Many people change when they must, just as many Americans are tightening their belts and driving less, with gas prices higher. I think that the Katrina hurricane taught a lot of folks not to look for help from the U.S. Government. Fortunately, there are some people already making the changes -- and some of them are guests on Peak Moment videos.

Most Americans don't want to change...orthey don't know very much about anything.Or are even to lazy to do anything. We are too caught up in our ways...we willjust have to suffer or ask for help fromthe U.S. government.Other than that, good video.

Great video. Very relevant. I just got my property tax bill, and it's increased by $400 this year. Gas, food, utilities - everything has increased because of the cost of oil.Thank you also for the positive comments about the Christian community's involvement. Nurturing and caring for one another is an important principle of our Christian faith.

Have you seen the film she helped videotape, "The Power of Community: How Cuba Survived Peak Oil"? The producers met with permaculturists, urban planners and others specifically to learn how people responded in agriculture, energy, transportation when Russia stopped supplying oil in the 1990s. This was a focused visit to tape a documentary, not a prepared tour.
