Homeless or not, why wouldn't you just tip it over?

And, what makes it NOT a robot? Just because you can remote control it doesn't mean that it isn't a robot. I mean, don't they use remote-controlled robots in the bombsquad to disarm bombs?I guess those don't count, right?

No, not all homeless folks choose to be that way. But I also consider that if it were my property, I am (largely) responsible for the welfare of myself and patrons on that property. OTOH, I'm not interested in putting myself at risk in that one-off chance a bum turns out to be violent. The bum bot is a reasonable solution really. I'm sure there are many legal implications though and hope this guy has thought that through.

Actually the majority of homelessness is caused by mental illness and the hospitals won't keep them since they don't have insurance. Look it up and quit spouting off your unfounded ridiculous opinions, like "all homeless choose to be that way"....moron.

The whole point is that this thing would not be so hard to build: it's a big remote-control toy, not a true robot, so you don't need any programming expertise. Anyway, build your own, and have fun. You CAN get charged for crimes committed by your bum-bot, however.

If "homelessness" is a lack of housing, then why did the "homeless" not protest when Chicago tore down Cabrini-Green? Most homeless are that way by CHOICE.
xcwilson (April 27, 2008 at 7:17 pm)
Yeah, that is not going to happen. The only thing that can help the homeless is themselves. People that are homeless don't need rehab. They are where they are because of choices/decisions they have made in their life. Many homeless people don't have to work because they rely on handouts from people which doesn't do anything but make them more dependent on handouts. Why would they want rehab? The system works great for them. Go Rufus!

Maybe we should encourage rehabilitation and address the problem of homeless in this city. Something tells me that would be more beneficial than spraying people with water. |
