Bethel, Maine - Historic covered bridge from 1872

Finally, after a two year break from skiing, we were ready to get on the slopes again. We got started a day late, because of the humongous snow storm on March 8, 2008. During our 10.5 hour drive to Bethel, Maine, we must have seen about 40 cars and tractor trailers in the ditch between Toronto and Montreal. Thank god we made it alive. We finally arrived at our comfy condo for the week and settled in for a nice March break getaway.Skiing at Sunday River was fabulous. The resort extends over eight different mountain peaks, its 110 trails cater to every level of skier and its 10 lifts whisked us to the top in no time. Weekday skiing is great since we literally skied right up to the chairlifts, hopped on and headed for the peak. No lineups whatsoever!The weather was great for most of the week, and the views from the top of the mountains is gorgeous. I would say this was definitely some of the best East coast skiing I have ever experienced.
