I don't care how many sky dives you have done. Untill you've stepped into complete darkness at 1250' wearing 95lbs of equipment and 68lbs of parachute, you just haven't lived. Hooha!

Yeah, I had to force myself to fall because it was so soft (which is why my chute came straight down). Sicily has always been good to me. It's Rhine-Luzon and Holland that beat me up pretty bad.

Unless Jumpmaster procedures, actions in the aircraft have changed, the Jumpmaster was pretty weak in the door. Not once did I see him do a 360, look forward, UP, Rear, down, straight ahead and then back forward. The purpose is to check the entire area, to see if there are any other aircraft, any obstacle or equipment hanging from the plane, (Outside Safety Check) 325th PIR back in my day were know as the jumping Junkies (Lets Go) and they had the most CIB's in Division. 84-86 82nd, 88-00 SpecOp

Yes - it was a training jump without combat equipment (weapon/rucksack).

It was 800 feet. That's what we normally jump for training with T-10 parachutes.

OK, once again for the jackasses out there, the old Falcon 9 thought it would be a good idea to designate the 2nd BSTB as "325th Special Troops Battalion" although it was contradictory to what the Dept. of Heraldry said. So, the unit was called 325th Special Troops Battalion for a while until it was finally corrected. Got it?
