you, sir, are full of shit. i highly doubt you are as skilled as mike. size of the kit doesnt matter.
professornutbutter10 (July 25, 2008 at 3:18 am)
um, actually, he was doing the YYZ solo from "exit: Stage Left". He was playing with his Rush tribute band (hence, the exact replica of Neil Peart's Tama kit...)

I'm in agreement with you and the fellow who posted before you.On my own personal note, I think it's amazing and amusing at how many people try to talk smack at how blatant Mike tried to basically copy Pert when it's clear (said or not) that it's a tribute. It's cute.

fucking boring this one
Insectamongus (July 20, 2008 at 10:00 am)
as he's saying in the dvd, this is mike portnoy paying tribute to neil peart by doing a solo just the way neil would have done. he's not thinking portnoy, he's thinking peart. And as long as it's got the groove, I'm happy

Why should any drummer, good or bad, have to fit the mold of any individual listener?I hate this one. That guy sucks. Joe Blow is better than Mike, etc!If the world or its inhabitants cottoned to everyone who thought it should play to their own personal liking then we'd all be like that one individual now wouldn't we?Just because someone whines about not liking a drummer doesn't lessen the skill of said drummer, it simply heightens our awareness of his whiny attitude!Call the wambulance!lol
