Yes. Thats exactly how its supposed to feel. If not, you just have him in a head lock and he can stay there for as long as he wants with no pain

Grappling match, I got into his guard, passed guard and took full mount, didnt get hooks in and was going to wait to get the back when I noticed his head was strained forward.I grabbed the guillotine from mount, not expecting much, but after about 4 or 5 seconds he tapped. Afterwards he was saying it felt like his throat box/ adam's apple was being crushed. Is this normal? I had never practised the guillotine before, but I had seen this video the night before. I just arched back and yanked hard.
