Cash was mostly Scottish, but he had some Native American in him. It wasn't a significant amount though. He discussed it in the press when the KKK attacked him for having a "dark" skinned wife. They thought Vivian Cash was Hispanic, even though she was Italian.

It was a myth he allowed to keep going, he was from Scottish ancestry, from the kingdom of Fife, but he did have moral and ethical affinities to the Native American nations.

yes i believe that johnny cash had some native american however there are some people who say not he said he was in a concert but there is no hard evidence

Cash grew up thinking he was part Native American, but the notion was misguided and false. Cash was of Scottish heritage and managed, as an adult, to trace his family back hundreds of years. He did, however, have a deep love for the Native Americans and went on to sing many songs about their plight.

the may seem like a silly question, but was Johnny Cash part Native American? Does anyone know? He has features that appear to be Native American. He was definitely gifted, and seemed like a really beautiful, yet tormented soul. Charlie Pride was the man!
