If the civic had hit the SUV side on as opposed to vise versa, the SUV driver would've at least been severely injured if not killed. It's not a fair comparison between a front (large crumple zone) and side impact (no crumple zone). Many cars do better than SUVs in side crash tests, so people who feel "invincible" in SUVs need to think again. Oh, and I doubt the civic would've rolled over several times upon colliding.

To avoid injury, buy an SUV, and equip it with a bull/brush bar. And to those environmentally friendly peeps, buy one with a biodiesel, or hybrid engine. 'Nuff said.
