Just Love Crissy! Great lyrics, GREAT guitar playing. It's usually the men who get kudos for great music. Nothing wrong with that, but nice to see a woman who is not just eyecandy play her brains out. A real guitarist! Not some low-life Brittney Spears.I should know. Iv'e been getting shit for playing guitar for a long time. I play Hendrix, Beatles, Led Zepplin. And I get called all kinds of names because the guys don't play as good as I do. And, I look better, too.

Chrissie Hynde is one of the finest female rockers or rockers in general around, but some people spouted off about her being the best over some other rock-n-roll chicks. First, no female singer can touch Ann Wilson's of Heart rock vocals. True, Heart may have been too commercial--and the truth is that it has always been cooler to like the Pretenders than Heart or Pat Benatar. To me, Chrissie's vocals reminds me of a female Dylan a lot--and with her harmonica here.

That guitar solo is AHHHH! Thanks for posting, henleyspecial.:-)And that drum sound by Martin Chambers pops right out like nothing else. So is that the late James Honeyman-Scott playing lead from the record or is that the guy on the vid--and who is that guy? Pretenders fans help! :-) |
