dls1020, you need to do some research, 2 of the dead were protestors and the other 2 were just walking to classes. The ROTC building was burned down.The rallys were not authorized by the Dean of Kent state!! Both sides went to far.

My brother was at Kent State then and those kids were not political, in fact, one kid was shot in the rear as he was trying to run away. The issue wasn't that they were protesters or that this is analogous to Tiananmen Square, but rather, that untrained guardsmen, the same age as the students, were ordered to shoot live ammo into a crowd, and were as frightened as the students. Neil Young captured the moment..the needless loss of life.

For the past six months, I have purposefully posted nasty, racist and hateful posts on many videos as part of an experiment in anomie. I am pleased to note that 9 out of 10 people disagree with the nastier things. However, the 1 out of 10 is still scary.I was going to end the experiment on July 4th, 2008 but decided to go a few more days. Some of the better responses will be posted on a website, which I will link to from my home on YouTube.
