just saw them in Montreal tonight... totally brilliant. First time i saw Stanley Clarke, what a brilliant and fierce bass player. Chick was totally amazing and so the others. They came back at the end and played "Duel of the Jester & the Tyrant" ... it blew me away!! unbelivable

Their '76 NY concert was a heck of an experience.Where am I? I'm based out of a few cities...undisclosed locations.

Legends of '70s Jazz...I saw these guys at The Palladium in NYC when they'd first formed as a group. My first ever live music show...I was a kid, practically...had never heard of RTF...and it absolutely blew my mind.

That's the coolest thing I've heard in quite some time. My utter dislike for Yngwie lives on. Although, I now see him as even less than the amazing prodigy he considers himself to be. I heard from what I consider a credible source that he ranked himself with Mozart and Beethoven in an interview... gimme a break. On a second note, Al can stand up on stage without looking like the circus came into town... that alone says a lot.

I agree with DTrucksEnthusiast. Al DiMeola is the pinnacle of guitar picking technique. Al and Yngwie both played on Derek Sherinian's Black Utopia album. I read in an interview where Derek got frustrated with Yngwie because he couldn't nail a part. Guess who Derek called? Al DiMeola!!! Al finished what Yngwie couldn't. Long live the Elegant Gypsy and long live RTF!!! |
