Music is written to be played as the composer wanted it to sound. But, thats not the end of what can be done with a piece. It can then be interpreted by the individual player. These guys played thier rendition, and swingish or not. It was well played by high class artists. Kudos to the players

a little too buzzy for my tastes. maybe go for soloist, but not as a group.
BeastySax (July 10, 2008 at 3:17 pm)
That wasn't swing. It was straight improv with no swing at all, lol

you do if you're John Psathas with his saxophone concerto for tenor saxophone and orchestra. check it its good
BeastySax (July 9, 2008 at 6:01 pm)
You're dumb. You don't swing classical music.

ok swing it to be cool saxophonists but here is wha i grit my teeth listening to the 1st altos gracenotes at :54 and the 2nd alto boppong around almost the whole piece with a grin like he thinks he is the coolest cat ever at 1:39 and then when he finally plays the melody at 1:56. i normally support all music, but this is a little to tasteless for my liking.

Bach had knowledge of the dotted eighth and sixteenth note. He used it in the Overtures of his Orchestral Suites and other of his most famous pieces...EXCEPT FOR THIS ONE!!!! Damn it man... don't swing the piece! This isn't Glenn Miller!

Oh my God! It's a real desecration of J.S.Bach! Moreover they're out of tune. Everyone! They made only a "great" show.Quintet of ducks!P.S. I also play saxophone ;] Shame on me...
