I own a 95 Model with the x20y engine. I believe your talking about the engines made in the United Kingdom that lacked around 20kw compaired to the previous engine. Years from 97 to 99 lacked power sunny jim!

The gearbox in my old car - 16V calibra, was the strongest box I have ever used. I would dump it from a standstill, jump the clutch in every gear, do burnouts... It just kept going. The synchros all worked perfectly, even though the box was leaking. Even with 270K on the clock, the shift was still notchy and not loose. And it was quiet too.

the gearbox isn't weak.. it's the 4wd system that breaks down all the time..

i thought calibra 4wd gearboxes are very weak? that is what i read? are they good or not?

Yeah baby, Calli V6 jus like mine B4 it got modded, cool to see it in original form once again.
