The Adeptus Custodes - Introduction + Background:A tribute this time to the Adeptus, or Legio, Custodes. I was in a bit of a hurry so got this one together pretty quick. All the information is obtained from Lexicanum.com, so if you want to argue with someone over the facts, try arguing with those guys! The Adeptus Custodes (also The Emperor's Guard or Custodians) are the guardians of the Imperial Palace and the Golden Throne, as well as being the personal bodyguard to the Emperor. A small elite of three hundred Custodes, known as the Companions, form the Emperor's personal bodyguard and never leave his side. Due to the vast size of the Imperial Palace, the Custodes always act as a defensive army, although technically they should never see action unless Terra or the Imperial palace is invaded. It is the Adeptus Custodes that decide who may enter the throne room of the Emperor, and when. The Custodes is a department of the Adeptus Terra, the Imperial government, but its members are answerable only to the Emperor and their own leaders. The organization's leader carries the title of Captain-General, and due to the importance of the Adeptus Custodes he often holds a position in the Senate of the High Lords of Terra. There is no set date for the inception of the Adeptus Custodes, but it is known that they have been active since before the Great Crusade. It was from the Emperor's original group of bodyguards that the first genetically enhanced warriors, superior to all other space marines, were created during the unification wars on Terra. During the Great Crusade, the Custodes always kept a contingent with the Emperor for his protection, but also travelled individually as envoys. Since the Emperor's internment in the Golden Throne, the Adeptus Custodes have taken a more limited role as protectors of the Imperial Palace. I honestly don't see how GW can kill of the Emperor, I guess if the Illuminati (Some secret Imperial organization) do their job we might see the Emperor reborn anew in 6th edition. How awesome would that be :D

It's not that surprising the Imperium's been slowly dieing since it was founded after the Horus hersy it was just a matter of time.

The "Time of Ending" is G.W's way of advancing the storyline. I've got ahold of the 5th edition rulebook and while Humanity isn't ending any time soon, the Imperium is now in a pretty bad position. The Golden Throne is failing, and I'm guessing that in the 6th edition we may see the end of the Imperium, but not yet anyway. For now, Space Marines get a new Land Raider, Assault Veterans and more! New boxed set includes Orks and Space Marines, including Terminators! Message me for more info

Has anyone read wiki? 5th edition has something to do with "the end of the age of humanity". Now im an optemist and i think that sounds pretty fu#*ing crazy considerig the humanity has endured 30,000 years of space. If anyone has some info i would be glad to hear it.
