If only we could learn in such an easy and clear way from the indigenous!I do not care who has the knowledge as long as it is used to heal and passed on.What are you saying between your lines?

most approaches in permaculture comes from foresty science and of course indigenous people, permaculture people like to conceal this.

theres also the additional thing that in areas like jordan, when you get rain, you get floods, even when it doesnt rain too much. the soil just cant handle so much water so quickly.you can think about it like people thought about oil. it really did work. it gained everything it should have. but now we're complaining about it, because no one tried to think those through.i am sure the native animals and plants might not handle the change as well.

Thank you! This is fantastic! We do indeed have the answers to our environmental problems when we align with the natural world. The information is challenging to get out but keep going. A newspaper once wrote to me when I was working on a maor environmental project and said the reason they wouldn't report good news solutions is because they are in the business of bad news and simply can't report the good. We the people must keep on bringing this information forward.

there can only be so many plants as the co2 in the atmosphere will allow. That's probably what the person was trying to say. In that regard one would think we were a long way off. Also, raising the water table in one place may well mean it will recede elsewhere, there's only so much in the system. If we used less water elsewhere, eg. in car (@4000gls per vehicle), and manufacture of beer (@12water:1 Beer)etc. it would probably compensate.

that's probably because it's utterly illogical. Why are there always detractors whenever a new benefit comes to light? At least they could have the decency to provide citations for thir statements.

There's a full report on the project if you search for "Use of permaculture under salinity and drought conditions."
